How to Easily Create Ebooks and Lead Magnets From Your Content

2021 is the year of learning, and what better way to start the year than by learning a new way to transform your content.

Digital Confetti is all about teaching you one-of-a-kind strategies to repurpose your content and sprinkle it all across the internet.

You might have great content and ideas, but if you’re not sharing them with your audience, you’re doing yourself and your business a disservice.

Now, if you’re thinking, “Stephanie, I have all this knowledge I’ve accumulated over the years, but I don’t know how to turn it into income, or something my audience can find value in,” I have the answer for you.

In the first Digital Confetti episode of 2021, I showed one of my favorite ways to repurpose content: creating lead magnets.

The best part is that you already have the content in your head, in a live stream, or a blog post. All you need to do is convert it.

So let’s get started.

What is a lead magnet?

A lead magnet is something you can give to your customers, viewers, or clients to draw them in.

You can use it as leverage to build your email list, get more prospects, and to generate awareness about what your business, product, or service has to offer.

Whether you are a marketer, course creator, coach, podcaster, live streamer, or another type of content creator, you can use lead magnets to your advantage.

Here’s a quick example.

The first thing you see on the landing page of my website is a large call-to-action, “Are you tired of being the best-kept secret online?”

Then, I offer a free Facebook Live Workbook—just add your email and hit the download button.

The workbook is a lead magnet. It’s instantly accessible and specific to my business and services.

By providing a free workbook right off the bat, I’m also starting to build authority with my audience.

A lead magnet is an item or service you give to your audience to build authority and to generate awareness about what you offer.

There are many different types of lead magnets you can use in your marketing strategy. Some examples are:

  • Ebooks

  • Workbooks

  • Worksheets

  • Checklists

  • Templates

  • Brochures

  • Pamphlets

  • Tutorials

  • Guides

  • Videos

And more.

With lead magnets, you can get as creative as you want to make your content stand out.

You can give your lead magnets away for free on your website, or you can sell an Ebook on Amazon. Then, you have something that’s generating passive income for you every month.

Are the wheels in your brain turning with ideas yet?

How to create lead magnets for your website

Creating Ebooks and lead magnets is easier than you think. Even if you aren’t very technical or creative, it only takes a few clicks.

I use a website called Designrr to make Ebooks and other lead magnets. You can add your blog posts, podcasts, research, videos, and more to the website and create fresh, new content to share.

Using Designrr is simple:

  1. Choose your source

First, you can import content from anywhere:

  • A blog post

  • Audio from a podcast

  • A YouTube video

  • PDF documents

  • Social media posts

  • A Word document

  • A file from your Google Drive

Designrr makes it easy to upload your existing content. There is no need to retype or reformat a blog post—just add the URL!

If you have a virtual assistant or executive assistant, this is the perfect task to delegate to them to free up your time.

2. Review your draft

Next, review the sections you want. In this step, you can create new call-to-actions, add links to your newsletter or YouTube channel, or add thumbnail images.

3. Choose a template

After you review your content, you can choose a template to design your lead magnet. You can add your brand colors, fonts, images, and more, to make it completely customizable and on brand for your business.

4. Tweak and tune

Review your content and make sure everything looks the way it should. Make any additional edits or changes you like.

5. Publish

Now, publish! Whether you create a flippable PDF document or an Ebook, you can post directly from Designrr and keep it saved in the cloud for future repurposing.

Using Designrr is a new and exciting way to share content with your audience. It only takes a click of a button to import your blog posts and turn them into beautifully-designed Ebooks.

For Digital Confetti and my show, Lights Camera Live, my team and I transcribe every video into a blog post for my website using Descript. But sometimes, I take it one step further.

I recently made an Ebook using Designrr from a blog post about how to live stream to a Facebook event. Here is a quick breakdown of how I did it.

First, I added the blog URL to Designrr and imported the post. Then, I picked a template that worked with the theme of the content.

Then, Designrr did all the work for me. It imported and converted the entire blog post into an Ebook.

Of course, there were certain elements I needed to review, such as title size and placement. If I wanted to, I could also change the colors, fonts, overall style or theme, and more. I could add additional images or call-to-actions for specific elements.

After making the changes I need, doing a quick preview, and publishing, I now have a brand-new piece of content I can share with my audience.

Once you’re done creating your new content, there are other things you can do with Designrr as well, such as making a 3D cover generator or image mock-up that’s perfect for your sales page or email newsletter.

The 3D image could show the cover of your Ebook on a book, iPhone, and iPad. Using a picture like this for your lead magnet is eye-grabbing and authoritative.

Other fun ways to use Designrr include creating a flipbook, brochure, and more. The possibilities are endless, and you can get as creative as you want.

What are the benefits of using Designrr?

Designrr has a few different monthly plans and a 7-day trial to get started. Because I use Descript to transcribe my videos (and to repurpose my content—check out my Digital Confetti recap on Descript to learn how), I use Designrr’s Pro plan instead of Premium.

With the Pro plan, you get 200+ project templates, 200+ cover designs, 922 Google fonts, the 3D cover image tool, unlimited use of copyright-free images, and more.

With Designrr, all you need to do is import or upload your content, let the tool do the hard part for you, make any necessary changes, and publish.

The overall goal of creating lead magnets is to reach as many people as possible and show them what you offer.

Lead magnets also help build authority with your audience. They show you care about providing valuable information and that you’re an expert in your industry.

Creating Ebooks and other lead magnets are the best way to make your content stand out.

It allows you to grow your audience across all channels and make your content accessible to people with different learning styles.

What lead magnets have you created?
